Hebocon for Everyone
Hebocon is an event anyone can host! You don't need to pay us to organize a Hebocon (though donations are welcome—details below).
As of 2024, Hebocon has been held in over 25 countries across all continents except Antarctica. Here are some examples of the types of venues and events where Hebocon has taken place:
- Entertainment
- In live houses, as a show event (the history of Hebocon began in a live house in Tokyo!)
- At hacker conventions, as a fun side event
- At anime festivals, as an attraction
- At school festivals, as a stage event
- Maker Culture
- At Maker Faire and other DIY-focused events, as an interactive experience
- At local maker spaces, as a networking event
- STEAM Education
- At science centers and libraries, as a workshop
- At schools, as a part of classes on engineering or programming
Be part of the Hebocon story by hosting your own event and spreading the joy of robot-making!
How to Start Your Own Hebocon
To make it easy for first-time organizers to get started, we've prepared a Starter Kit. You can download the file below:
Hebocon Starter Kit for Organizers
The kit includes manuals, rulebooks, and other documents to help you host your event. You'll also find useful resources like Hebocon logo files and buzzer sound files to enhance your tournament. For detailed instructions and advice, please refer to the manual.
We also have dedicated Facebook groups for Hebocon organizers:
By joining, you'll be able to get advice from us and other experienced organizers. After your event, be sure to share your photos and videos of the Hebocon in the group to inspire others!

Make It Lighthearted and Enjoyable
Hebocon is all about having fun and keeping things easy-going. Whether you’re hosting a small or large event, the goal is to create an atmosphere where everyone can enjoy themselves. The size doesn’t matter as long as it’s a good time!
Remember, the hosts should enjoy themselves too while organizing the event!
